Job DescriptionCreate something new: Take a deep dive into laser semiconductor interaction and resulting effects on mechanical properties, set up and work with state-of-the-art laser processing equipment and develop novel process approaches and strategiesTake responsibility: Design, conduct and analyze experiments and simulations, deduce physical cause-effect relationships, and leverage your findings for directing our internal pre-development towards novel product and process approachesExperience cooperation: Become a part of our highly skilled and motivated team and work in a close cooperation of corporate research and the sensor process development in the automotive electronics business unit, as well as relevant external research partners all over the worldQualificationsEducation: excellent Master´s degree in physics, engineering, natural science or similarExperience and Knowledge: sound knowledge of fundamental and material physics; knowhow in laser material processing, especially surface processing (ablation, drilling, etc.) and ultrashort-pulsed lasers is beneficial; experience in scientific work, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation, as well as programming (, Python, Matlab) and simulation skillsPersonality and Working Practice: innovative, open-minded, willingness to dive deep into a complex topic, motivating yourself and othersEnthusiasm: keen to create something new as part of a team, strong interest in physical backgrounds as well as semiconductor devices for (MEMS) sensors and power applicationsLanguages: fluent competencies in spoken and written English and GermanAdditional InformationThe final PhD topic is subject to your university.Start: according to prior agreementDiversity and inclusion are not just trends for us but are firmly anchored in our corporate culture.
