YOUR TEAM In the Perception ADAS & AD team, we pioneer cutting-edge sensor systems to enable best-in-class automated driving and advanced driver assistance systems leveraging a shared sensor & perception tech stack. Through data-driven development of our perception functions, we actively contribute to CARIAD's mission to enhance automotive mobility, making it safer and more comfortable.As a Big Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, operating, and enhancing data processing and analytics pipelines. These initiatives are geared towards advancing our data-driven development activities on the journey to automated driving. You will collaborate with a diverse, agile, and international development team, working alongside data scientists, computer vision experts, software developers, project leads, and test engineers. WHAT YOU WILL DO Contribute to a highly automated data pipeline supporting the development and testing processes of ADAS & AD sensor perception systemsDevelop, deploy and monitor efficient, scalable and reliable data management and processing solutionsOptimize data storage and processing on both cloud and on-premise infrastructure as well as various test instancesPerform big data analyses, derive statistics and create dashboards to identify patterns in our data Base and apply your development and analytics on our daily growing data lake recorded by our development and series vehicles on worldwide roads WHO YOU ARE Academic background in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field, providing a solid foundation for technical expertise. In-depth knowledge of data analysis and data-driven development built upon cloud services and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) ideally with experience in processing and analysis of vehicle bus, image and point cloud data Proven expertise in back-end software development especially Python (Java, C++, and other object oriented programming languages is a plus) and operation of data pipelines in big data and cluster computing frameworks (e.g. Spark, Databricks) Ability to write clean, efficient and maintainable code, manage it in Git and adhere to DevOps principles Comprehensive understanding of various database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and their applications in data management, coupled with hands-on experience in containerization and deployment tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Pytest, and Linux.
