The Digital Analytics workstream ensures that the business innovations of QBE take full advantage of the many opportunities of data: automating and optimizing with the help of advanced analytics and state-of-the-art operations research models, providing the right data for business steering, and taking process concepts to the next level.As an Operations Research Engineer (m/f/d) for the Shipment Routing Engine, you will…Identify, ideate, and challenge the way we route shipments across our global networkDevelop prototypical algorithms to better link shipment routes with customer contracts and allocation management – ensuring that our customers receive what they paid for and that we deliver what we offeredSupport the strategic decision on how much routing flexibility we want to provide our customers per product bundle with analytical modelsRadically simplify and rethink our current mechanisms/ algorithms for shipment routingWork closely together with the Product Owners (PO) and business experts from all workstreams to define and prioritize the business requirementsLiaise with IT Products to transform the concepts into productive long-term solutionsYour Profile:To be successful in this role, you should…Be motivated to applying your passion for operations research/ analytics to the world of global logisticsHave interest in the holistic analysis and modeling of complex systems which are strongly interrelated with numerous operative, tactical, and strategic business processesDegree in quantitative field such as mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics, engineering, economics or relatedBe excited about challenging the status quo, coming up with creative and innovative solutions and working conceptuallyHave excellent command of spoken and written EnglishGerman language expectations: We expect all international candidates to be willing to learn at least the basics of the German language in case they are accepted for the position.
