As a Senior Backend Engineer, you are coding hands-on and supporting your team members solving technical challenges. Additionally, you will take part in interviewing, finding the best future talent for Personio.There are different areas and products, where you can make an impact, either accelerating our established products or developing new ones. Role Responsibilities: What you'll do Taking responsibility for delivery of larger in-team projects that may have a high level of uncertainty and risk, with a pragmatic approach to estimation, scoping and planningFollowing and promoting best practices to solve higher complexity challenges by building reliable, performant and elegant solutions that are easy to work with Proactively extending your scope to the team level when needed to ensure healthy operations and successful deliveryActing towards company's priorities and strategy, and engages in productive conversations about business impact of their workGiving useful and effective feedback, actively seeking to improve the entire team by regularly sharing knowledge and mentoring othersStepping up, actively driving team topics and supporting other team membersCommunicating with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership, targeted for the audienceParticipating in activities within the larger org, and performing actions that positively influence groups of people Role Requirements: What you need to succeed 5+ years of software development experience using JVM based languages (preferably Java or Kotlin)Strong skills in writing efficient, performant and extensible code using the right tools and patterns to implement the functionalities that add value to our customersTrack record of working in an agile setup using continuous deployment and deliveryExperience with event-driven architectures, domain-driven design, and eventual consistencyKnowledge about resilience patternsExperience with containerization and container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes preferred) in a cloud environment (AWS preferred) Strong written and spoken communication skills (in English)What motivation and mindset you should bringDriven by impact - We work hard and take action to achieve great results for our customers and PersonioSpeed of execution - We are moving fast and are relying on you to elevate the team deliveryEmbrace feedback - no one is perfect, and neither are we.
