You will work together with colleagues in different locations and in various departments. The Senior Hardware Engineer will play a critical role in the LIDAR project and will be the trusted partner for all related topics. WHAT YOU WILL DO Responsibility for the overall mechatronical setup of the LIDAR with respects to sensorperformance, reliability and durabilityDevelopment of detailed integration and heat dissipation conceptsReview of the production processes with respect to repeatability, durability and necessary measures for meeting the sensor performance requirementsPrepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, validation reports, and manufacturing guidelines Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains in hardware design, testing, and validation methodologies WHO YOU ARE Degree in Optoelectronics, or mechanial engineering and other similiar fields of studyProven experience as a Hardware Engineer working with LIDAR technology, preferably in the automotive industry or related fieldsExcellent knowledge in LIDAR Technologies and qualification of the hardware and point cloud particularly in the automotive industryStrong knowledge of automotive electronics, hardware design principles, and embedded systems.Strong knowledge in optics and industrialisationGood understanding of production methods and analytical methods NICE TO KNOW Remote work optionsTemporary work from abroad in selected countriesFlextime / optional working hoursCompany pension planAnnual professional developmentSabbatical option up to 6 months30 days paid + 10 days unpaid leavePossibility for VW Group car leasingIf you have further questions about the candidate journey at CARIAD, please contact us:
