The RoleImperial Brands have a new exciting opportunity for a Junior Researcher to join our Sensory and Consumer Science Team based in Hamburg; initially on a 18 to 24 month fixed term basis. As a Junior Researcher you will play a key role in supporting and facilitating consumer research activities to gain valuable insights into consumer preferences, behaviours, and experiences.Your primary focus will be on understanding consumer perceptions, preferences, and decision-making processes related to our products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive product development, innovation, and marketing strategies based on consumer insights.This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your research career further within a inclusive, innovative global FMCG business. Imperial Brands is supported by 25,000 employees and we operate in 120 countries, this is a global role giving you opportunity to build your network and development further.Principle Accountabilities Design and Execute Consumer Research Studies: Support development of research plans and methodologies for consumer studies, including qualitative and quantitative research methods, facilitate design experiments, surveys, focus groups, interviews, and other research activities to gather consumer insights; whilst collaborating with internal stakeholders to align research objectives with business goals. Research Proposals and Costs: Facilitate requests for proposals in alignment with research objectives and internal stakeholders, negotiate with supplier adjustments of research proposal until ideal setup is achieved Conduct Data Collection and Analysis: Analyse consumer data using statistical techniques, qualitative analysis, and other relevant methods; and interpret and present research findings to identify key consumer trends, preferences, and opportunities Consumer Insights and Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest consumer research methodologies, tools, and industry trends. Identify emerging consumer trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Use consumer insights to guide product development, marketing strategies, and decision-making processes Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product development, marketing, and other teams to integrate consumer insights into product innovation and development processes. Provide guidance and support to teams in translating consumer research findings into actionable recommendations. Act as a subject matter expert on consumer research and provide insights-driven recommendations Research Reporting and Communication: Prepare comprehensive research reports, presentations, and visualizations to effectively communicate research findings to stakeholders and present findings to internal and external stakeholders as neededSkills & Experience RequiredExperience in consumer research, sensory evaluation, market research methodologies, and project managementAdvanced in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including survey design, data collection, and statistical analysisStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insightsExperiences with statistical software packages SPSS, SAS, R) and data visualization toolsFluent in German & English in writing and speaking, alongside excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex research findings to diverse audiencesA passion for consumer behaviour, sensory perception, and a deep understanding of market dynamicsWhat we offerIn return for playing your part in building our future, you will receive a comprehensive compensation package with salary, bonus scheme and many extras including a great pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement and hybrid/flexible working opportunities as well inspiring places to work and collaborate with purpose.
