Specialist Data Governance (m/f/d) Freelance/Contracting project Essen Start date: asap Reference number: 734490/1 Diesen Job teilen oder drucken Your responsibilities Design, embed, operate and scale data governance processes across various data programs, systems, various data types and digital innovations across the groupDesign and automate process and status documentation of the meta-data within a dedicated Data Catalogue, of the complex ETL processes, and of the governance and compliance requirements and corresponding status quoFurther develop the central Data Governance Framework, including definition, formalization and roll-out of roles and corresponding responsibilitiesProvide guidance to business units regarding metadata standards and taxonomies within the Data Catal, provide input into data strategy and supporting its group-wide implementationActively guide independent business units to build their own data governance organizations, roadmaps and orchestrating the operationalization of business segment specific data strategies (focus technical implementation/design)Advise upskilling and knowledge sharing on data governance, management terms and concepts across the groupLead the definition, alignment, and operationalization of sub-strategies for the data management and governanceMaintain working knowledge of compliance requirements towards data and its management processesCollect industry-wide trends on how data is leveraged for competitive advantage and identify data-driven innovation opportunitiesContribute to the definition of the Digital, Data and Technology learning agendas and support the development of data strategy relevant content for training and communication Your profile Bachelor / master’s degree in data engineering, data modelling, informatics, data science, economics, or equivalent professionWell-founded experience in data engineering, technical operationalization of data governance roles and processes, monitoring, and data management functionsPractical experience with any of the enterprise data catalog tools such as Erwin DIS, Collibra, and Purview etc.Good understanding on metadata management concepts, technical connections to scan databases, firewalls, reporting tools like PowerBI, Tableau or QlikWorking experience on building enterprise business glossaries and roll-out of data ownership & stewardship in Data Catalog toolsExcellent project management skillsExcellent expertise in data lake architecture ( Azure Data Lake)Well-founded extensive working experience in international management of large-scale data enablement and transformation projects in a regulated and fast changing industryExcellent understanding of the data-management, -governance, -strategy and -architecture tools and technologies, as well as its combinations ( Erwin DIS, Collibra, SAP MDM)Good skills in programming languages ( SQL)Excellent understanding of digital and data-driven services and platforms and their impact on data opportunities and risks, as well as relevant trendsStrong consulting, facilitation and communication skills in both business and technology, including the ability to simplify complex data concepts and distill them into core insights, ideas and recommendations towards management levels and across different cultures and countriesAbility to understand and link legal obligations into organizational and technical implications and vice versa Your benefits Interesting tasks in a multinational environment
