The Engineering function is responsible for all engineering activities within the firm to ensure that business objectives are met. Includes the creation, development, design, and improvement of products, equipment, facilities, services, standards, and procedures in all engineering fields.The primary responsibility of this job is to ensure the growth of the organization’s technology portfolio through concept/idea formulation and prototype development in line with the business strategy, requirement, and specifications. These individuals participate in the evolution and development of new innovative architectures and methods to maintain, upgrade, replace and improve the long-term performance of the existing architectures. Self-Direction and Self-Management skills• Knowledge of ITIL and industry management processes• Interest on methodology, tasks/activities coordination, as well as experience with Agile.• DevOps and Automation culture, interest on optimizing and maximize efficiencies.Technical Skills:Mandatory requirements• Knowledge of monitoring tools.• Knowledge of monitoring protocols like SNMP, WMI and WINRM.• Knowledge of Internet protocols like TCP/IP, DNS or HTTP.• Knowledge in Windows and Linux operating systems.• Experience with web, middleware applications and databases.• Experience with Python• Experience working with REST API, SOAP, XML-RPC or JSON integration standards.Optional requirements• Experience with public cloud and virtualization• Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Salt-Stack or Puppet.• Experience with other scripting languages like Bash, Perl or Powershell.Previous Work Experience:• Required 3 or more years of experience with development and systems.• Required Experience with enterprise environments and critical-mission platforms.• Experience with telco, hosting providers or big corporations will be appreciated. Key Responsibilities• Interfaces with Senior team members and Operational Teams to come up with new or additional monitoring along with doing break fix.• Determines root causes of issues that are determined throughout testing.• Generate and maintain documentation for the monitoring tools. Examples: data inputs, interface layout, integrations data points, thresholds, and graphs• Provides timelines for fixing issues that are identified during testing.• Communicate needed changes to the rest of the monitoring team and organization when interdependencies exist.• Develop scripts and code when needed.• Produce working prototypes and then refine the prototypes into production ready deployments.• Takes input from senior team members and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback.• Consistently delivers high-quality services to the organization.• Maintains the applications that make up the monitoring toolset at NTT CSD.Personal Skills:• High resolution and troubleshooting ability• Ability to transfer knowledge across technologies, excellent learning ability.• Good organization and prioritization skills• Excellent communication skills and good team player• Passion for lifelong learning and personal and professional development• Ability to work under pressure and work in different projects at a time.• High sense of responsibility and ownership.
