Position Description An exciting new vacancy has become available in QIAGEN’s IP Department for an IP Search Specialist focusing on cutting-edge technologies. The successful candidate will work independently on projects in close collaboration with QIAGEN’s Patent Attorneys and internal clients in an international environment.Based in Monheim am Rhein, we are a dynamic and friendly team looking for a team-minded professional addition.Key responsibilities:- Independent preparation of Patent Searches (e.g. novelty, state of the art, freedom-to-operate, IP-Landscape searches, etc.) as a support of the internal product development as well as M&A and licensing activities- Preparation of IP analyses regarding market and technology trends in close collaboration with QIAGEN internal clients (R&D, Business Development, etc.)- Preparation of IP analyses for the evaluation of strategic options such as licensing opportunities and M&A activities.- Close collaboration with internal patent attorneys , for example in coordinating and interpreting IP searches- Counsel QIAGEN internal clients with regard to the search tools, data bases, significance of search results, etc. Position Requirements - Masters or PhD degree in a biotechnological field, such as Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, with a strong analytical mindset- An understanding of patent law or willingness to acquire required knowledge in a short timeframe- Previous experience as a search professional or similar is highly desirable- Genuine enthusiasm for biotechnological topics and excellent team-working abilities- Fluent German and English, written and spoken (essential) Please submit your application in English What we offer At the heart of QIAGEN are our people who drive our success.
