The mathematics institute of Freie Universität Berlin invites applications for one PhD position in the joint project "K-Theory and Normal Complexes" together with EPF Lausanne within the framework of the DFG Priority Programme SPP "Combinatorial Synergies". This is a project at the interface of Algebraic Geometry and Combinatorics. The position will be based in Berlin in the group of Christian Haase, but the doctoral researcher will be co-advised by Leonid Monin in Lausanne.Job description: The doctoral researcher will study combinatorial models of different cohomology theories of algebraic varieties and their extensions to a purely combinatorial setting. The doctoral researcher will have regular extended stays in Lausanne. Several visits to international collaborators are planned. The doctoral researcher will participate in and actively organize scientific and networking events for the SPP.
