We are currently sourcing two experienced Civil Works Supervisors to join a massive undertaking in Germany, based on the conversion of two coal-based plants into a combined cycle power plants. The Civil Works Supervisor is pivotal in managing subcontracted manpower or directly hired teams for executing civil and building construction activities under the guidance of the Civil/Building Superintendent. This role demands rigorous adherence to HSE requirements and quality control policies, ensuring every aspect of the civil/building section's work on the construction site is performed to the highest standards, from prefabrication and excavation to erection, in accordance with project drawings and specifications. Key Responsibilities: *Ensure strict compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulations regarding health, safety, environment, security, and quality. *Provide leadership to foster a well-organized project execution team that meets quality standards and project specifications. *Coordinate activities from the receipt of project materials to the completion of erection activities, ensuring seamless operation and execution. *Oversee and manage all civil construction activities, from prefabrication to on-site execution, effectively coordinating between foremen and helpers, whether subcontracted or directly hired. *Maintain detailed reports on progress, manpower, and equipment status, and collaborate closely with the Civil/Building Superintendent to assess and fulfill resource needs timely. Tasks *Certify all personnel for specific tasks and ensure compliance with on-site entry training and certifications. *Establish a construction team that adheres to HSE and quality assurance procedures. *Implement health and safety plans on-site, engage in waste management practices, and uphold the stop work policy as necessary. *Guarantee that all project activities and equipment meet the project's quantity, capacity, and quality requirements. *Efficiently allocate human, material, and tool resources, setting daily activity schedules to optimize workflow and coordination among various work areas. *Organize workers for tasks in line with project drawings and procedures, ensuring every team member is capable of executing their assigned work scope. *Facilitate inspections and tests of materials in collaboration with the Material Controller and QA/QC department, and manage the logistics from prefabrication areas to the site. *Supervise equipment integrity and maintenance, ensuring all personnel are appropriately certified. *Prepare and report on manpower, equipment, and tool utilization to the Civil/Building Superintendent, assisting in the identification and resolution of on-site interferences. Requirements *At least 5 years of practical construction experience in the Oil & Gas and Power Plants sectors. *Recent experience (within the last 3 years) in a Civil/Building Supervisory position. *Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and solve problems effectively. Must be adaptable and able to manage stress well. *Demonstrated leadership, motivation, and technical capabilities within a team environment. Soft Skills and Competencies: *Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. *Highly motivated and focused, with a commitment to delivering projects on time. *Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and embrace change. *Strong people management skills, detail-oriented, methodical approach to tasks. *Proven ability to collaborate and work within a team, with a solid commitment to HSE principles. *Positive attitude towards conflict resolution and accountability. *Proficiency in English is required; German language skills are an advantage. Education Requirements: A High School Diploma in a Technical Sector is required. Work Conditions: This position requires regular site attendance. Other Specific Requirements: *Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering construction drawings. *Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.). This role is essential for ensuring that civil construction activities on Oil, Gas, and Power Plant projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
